Pointe I/II, Ages 13+

Spring 2026 Dates: Monday, January 12 - Sunday, June 7, 2026
This is a pointe class for students with at least one year of pointe experience. Emphasis will be placed on proper alignment, conditioning, and technique. Class will also include strength-building exercises.
Please note, a requirement of three ballet classes per week is required for all students dancing en pointe. Placement in this class is by instructor approval only.
Girls’ Dress Code: Solid-Color Leotard, Ballet Pink or Skin Tone Footed Tights, Pink or Skin Tone Pointe Shoes. Ballet skirts and warm-ups are permitted. Hair must be neatly secured in a bun away from the face and neck.

Primary Ballet III, Ages 7-9 (Age 7 by 09/01/25)

Primary III class opens with a series of exercises at the barre followed by stretches, ballet positions, and combinations in the center. Students begin to connect barre and center work as they gain strength and musicality.
Girls’ Dress Code: Solid-Color Leotard, Ballet Pink or Skin Tone Footed Tights, Pink or Skin Tone Canvas Ballet Slippers. Hair must be neatly secured away from the face and neck.
Boys’ Dress Code: White T-Shirt, Black Tights or Leggings, Black Ballet Slippers. Hair must be neatly secured away from the face and neck.

This class introduces children to creative movement and very basic ballet positions and terminology. We begin sitting in a circle, doing a series of stretches accompanied by music and visual imagery. Slowly we stand and work on ballet positions and moving across the floor.

Students learn proficiency at the barre and continue with complicated center work. Emphasis on musicality and precision of movement continue as we concentrate on combining knowledge of ballet steps into fluid dance combinations. Students who are ready may be working en pointe. This class is for students who have taken at least 5-6 years of continuous ballet instruction.
Please note, a two day per week commitment is required for the Ballet IV/V level. If students prefer to attend one day per week, please register for Educational Ballet on Saturday. Placement in this class is by instructor approval only.
